A good move….A 1-year rental…A strong insurance policy.

Your mailing address is the AFC-West.  Your neighborhood has lots of big time yardage-throwing quarterbacks.  You know you will have to defend the pass and all the speed receivers in the division, much less the rest of the league.

Finally, Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco adds a veteran this off season, to his beleaguered defense, you know the one that was raznked 29^th against the pass.  The one that had 2-of the worst rated corners in the NFL.

Brandon Flowers is a mighty mite.  A 5’9 corner who can run, can tackle, and plays very well in shadow coverage.  He was cut by the Kansas Chiefs last month, after they decided he couldn’t play their press coverage, and had a 10.5 million cap figure.

Shame on Kansas City for trying to pound a square peg into a round hole.  He wasn’t  very good last year, bet he will be this year.  He was ranked as the 87^th cornerback in the league by Pro Football focus, but that was more on the Chiefs than him.

Now you have a trusted veteran at one corner, and you expect Shareece Wright at the other corner to continue to grow.  Add the fast development of Marcus Gilchrist at safety and the ever trustworthy Eric Weddle, and you have something that holds up now in the pass happy AFC West.

Of course getting Dwight Freeney healthy, and keeping Melvin Ingram on the field, as top shelf pass rushers, will be important too.  Add in a 2^nd year man in Mantei Te’o and a healthy Donald Butler and this defense looks much better this morning.

Of course you need it.  Your neighbors are Peyton Manning and Alex Smith and the new guy just moving in, Matt Schaub in Oakland.

And on the next block you know there’s Drew Brees, Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson on that Chargers schedule too.
