  1. Art Uvaas says:

The San Diego Padres’ organization is a complete disaster. They showed no patience with the good roster they assembled in the winter of 2014-2015. General Manager A.J. Preller is just the sorry conduit of a horrific ownership group. This is a complete and total melt-down. The precipitous decline, all started with the firing of former manager: Bud Black. Granted, Black was never going to get them to a World Series; nevertheless,
his invaluable knowledge on pitching–along with his demeanor–was a stabilizing influence on the entire team.

Pat Murphy was a college guy, who had no street cred in the clubhouse. Frustratingly, they should have hired a veteran manager, (over a “green”…Andy Green). Green, at least tries hard. However, this season would have been a challenge for anyone.

Now, the “fire-sale” is nearly complete. The compensation the Friars have received in trades has been underwhelming, at best.

The City-of-San Diego has one of the finest baseball stadiums in the country,(showcased to the nation during
the All-Star Week, with glowing reviews).

It is a shame that the denizens of “America’s Finest City” have been “stiffed” once again, by a team that sorely lacks vision and competence.

Is it any wonder that the fans/voters are reluctant to
approve another stadium venture for the CHARGERS downtown?

Case Study #1: The Padres’ ineptitude these past eleven
    years at PETCO.

Case Study #2: The Chargers mirror the Padres because
    of their ownership/front office staff’s
    incompetence, as well.

San Diego deserves so much better…
