Padres-Dodgers…Trade talks for OF-Matt Kemp continue with names being put in and pulled out of the package…Padres would part with C-Yasmani Grandal, P-Alex Torres, and minor league pitcher for Kemp-30M LA would pay as part of 105M contract. Padres may be willing to part with Matt Wisler, but Dodgers want either Joe Ross or Zach Eflin from lower minors. Kemp fully recovered from ankle-shoulder-hamstring injuries….Padres would inherit about 70M of contract (16M) per year…Kemp (.295) with (.495) slugging percentage at Petco in career..Former agent Dave Stewart says the 107M-contract is insured against injury….Dodgers GM-Farhan Zaidi says his team is not close to dealing Kemp to Padres despite media reports.
GM-AJ Preller admitted trade talks have ‘shelf life’ and Padres walking away from some deals now that do not fit..Has developed a layer of untouchable players at different levels in the farm system.
