Pro Football Notebook-NFL Owners Meetings Update-Wednesday

Here’s summary of what I have so far….as of mid-day Dallas time from NFL sources:

NFL went to Stan Kroenke early November and asked him to agree that co-partner in Hollywood Park stadium would come in and both would move to LA…
Kroenke sent ‘term letter’ with his ‘equal’ team proposal to NFL last week
Kroenke agrees both teams go into LA in 2017 and into new stadium in 2019 as equal partners in stadium revenues
Kroenke retains rights to develop other properties himself outside Stadium

Spanos-Kroenke would pay equal territorial fee to move..possibly 500M-each and pay equal construction costs of new stadium.  Kroenke would pay development costs for other land projects.
NFL would take some of territorial money and help fund a new stadium for Raiders….possibly in Oakland or San Diego…?Raiders move?
3-members of Committee on LA urging Roger Goodell to call for vote Rams-Raiders vote January 11th special meeting.  Bob McNair says “vote must happen now”
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says “If Kroenke wasn’t an NFL owner-he’d be type of owner we would want to join league-he is right man for LA”

Still to be determined…Territorial fee-how much-how long a period of time would be it be paid.
Still to be determined…Rams play in interim home in LA Coliseum…Chargers possibly at Home Depot Center-Carson (35,000-seats)
Still to be determined..Would NFL agree to expand into St Louis-San Diego if those cities built new stadiums despite losing teams-did in Cleve-Houston

Did you mean Rams – Chargers???

    • Lee Hacksaw Hamilton says:

Vote would be for some sort of financing package for either Hollywood Park or Carson and the teams that would go there.
