  • Final preseason game tonite vs Arizona Cardinals….Very tough roster cut decisions coming up for Mike McCoy and staff…Toughest challenges-WR-Vincent Brown, out most of camp with calf injury..utility WR-special teams player Seyi Ajirotutu…and CFL import Donnie Inman, who had great first game but not done much since-who do you keep
  • RB-Brandon Oliver has not done much on KR unit and only way to make club as 4th RB is to play and excel on special teams
  • OL-journeyman Willie Smith is battling third year OT-Mike Harris, who has not had good games recently
  • LB-where there is an overload, but Thomas Keiser and Andrew Gachkar have always played well on special teams
  • DL where injuries are real problem and question whether you can carry both DEs Lawrence Guy and Tenny Palepoi
  • QB-Brad Sorenson probably goes to developmental squad to open up roster spot for depth…
  • TE-can you carry ex-Cowboy John Phillips since you already have Gates-Green and signed multi position TE-FB David Johnson…
  • Arizona has brought in Tommy Kelly-Issac Sopoaga at DT since the loss of Darnell Dockett to injury…Cardinals short on linebackers too.

– Thursday Night Previews –

  • Oakland QB-Matt Schaub has played poorly (2 scoring drives in 15-possessions)….Derek Carr coming off minor concussion has played well in each game…3rd QB-Matt McGloin very productive and team reacts well to his leadership….Seattle looks loaded on both sides of the ball.

  • QB-Blake Bortels has had 3-good preseason games in a row, but yet Chad Henne will be Jaguars starter…Atlanta has yet to play RB-Steven Jackson-fighting thru hamstring problems.

  • Not been a good camp for Andy Reid’s team with injuries to S-Eric Berry, WR-Dwayne Bowe, RB-Jamal Charles…Packers have to overcome loss of NT-BJ Raji for the year…Green Bay looks 3-deep at RB, a huge help for Aaron Rodgers.

  • Both teams have big problems in the secondary more than anything else…QB-Mark Sanchez has had great camp with Eagles.

  • Surprise week with New England chopping veteran players off roster, Tommy Kelly, Will Smith, and shuffling TEs…Giants still having injury problems at LB and CB…Eli Manning finally had good outing in new offense last week, but needs to duplicate it again…starters will play in this 4th game.

  • How does St. Louis survive with QB-Shaun Hill replacing the badly injured Sam Bradford…Miami still moving people around OL and still trying to find right components to run game.

  • QB-Cam Newton still not 100% healthy now with rib injury on top of slow recovery ankle surgery…Steelers seem to have problems at RB and defense that played really poorly last weekend.

Redskins-Tampa Bay

  • Should be big concern over QB-RG3-because he looks so uncomfortable in the pocket…Bucs huge upgrade in OL with trade for Logan Mankins of Patriots.

  • Very disappointing offensive camp for Niners…Colin Kaepernick does not look comfortable in pocket-defenses seem to be taking away his ability to move the pocket and run…Texans very iffy at quarterback with Ryan Fitzpatrick…Defense looks superb with return of Brian Cushing and emergence of Jadeveon Clowney.

  • Drew Brees getting better each day in practice after missing a couple of games with oblique…Ravens have big injury issues in secondary.

  • If this were real season game it would be ugly…Peyton Manning sizzling preseason…Cowboys look horrid on defense.

  • RB-Adrian Peterson has not played any games….Cassell-Bridgewater combo looks good at QB…Titans improving under Ken Whisenhunt.

  • Hard to say which is worse, Cleveland QB situation or Browns secondary…interested to see if Johnny Football gets bulk of snaps or do they need to keep playing Brian Hoyer to get him in sync.

  • QB-Andrew Luck looks so confident running the show but injuries have really hurt team at RB-LB…Bengals have had good camp but Andy Dalton must take next step and be big time every Sunday.

  • Buffalo seems to be very streaky on offense with young players…Detroit has all the weapons but yet to explode under Coach Jim Caldwell yet.
