I guess you can breathe a sigh of relief.

The bulletins, the twitter blasts, about the auto accident, and the first pictures sent, were pretty scary.  The black pickup truck upside down-its roof crushed, and knowing the 6-6 Carolina Panthers quarterback had been driving.

Cam Newton is hurt, two minor fractures in his back, after his pickup was tee-boned by a driver who ran a red light, and flipped his truck on a bridge.

It was first reported, Newton had broken both legs; then it was corrected that his legs and back were bruised.

Then owner Jerry Richardson told reporters, Newton escaped serious injury. But then came the report, he was being held in the hospital in fair condition.

And finally the update on two fractures of his back.

In the internet age, everyone wants to be first.  Maybe they should try to get it right.  A twitter report from the “Rant” website had the injuries being two broken legs.  That set off a firestorm of other reports, all retweeted, from the original report.

It was 12:30 in the afternoon, not 12:30am after hours.

Cam Newton, who has struggled with injury problems again, not from football, but from a pickup truck crash, is likely done for the season.  Breathe a sigh of relief.  It could have been alot worse.
