  1. Rick Smith says:

One of those who listened to the mighty 690, Aztec football, and the Chargers back to pre Bobby Ross and Humphreys days. Fell out of touch by 9/11, and retired in 2019 to be near the grandkids in Indiana. Great podcast for my morning walk and workout. Love the familiar format and voice.

  2. Rick Smith says:

About the Dodgers, Dave Roberts and pitching. I’m a Dodger fan back to Drysdale, Osteen, Bill Singer days. I have to disagree with you guys on the great job Roberts is doing despite all the injuries they’ve had.
I think the Dodgers have become a dead end for pitchers, and a career ender for some. Roberts is no pitching authority, and when he started the “bullpen game” trend, it nearly ruined baseball for me, and I’m sure for others. When he pulled Rich Hill from a perfect game with a big lead, he cheated Hill yes; but also every other player on the team, not to mention the fans. He cheated all of them of the inspiration that a perfect game, or even a close one gives a team. He has no inspirational sense or abilities. I think Kershaw was afraid, and Roberts couldn’t and wouldn’t try to inspire him to finish his opportunity.
The Dodgers need a knowledgeable and authoritative pitching coach and trainer who can balance the scales and save their pitching prospects.
