“NFC-AFC Playoff Preview”

=================

BENGALS-CHIEFS…Call this ‘Star Wars’…Two high octane offenses that will stress out both defenses.  There are burning questions everywhere.

Patrick Mahomes is coming off the high ankle sprain but has practiced this week.  Does he become strictly a pocket passer on Sunday and will in take away some of the explosiveness and chunk plays Mahomes would make outside the pocket?

Does Cincinnati come out of character and blitz the Chiefs knowing Mahomes has to stay in the tackle for tackle box?

Can the Bengals double Travis Kelce and take him out of the mix and challenge the Chiefs WRs, JuJu Smith and Marquez Scantling to beat them.

Will the Chiefs throw more to their running backs on the edge.

Will Chris Jones-Frank Clark overwhelm the Bengals backup blockers and knock Joe Burrow out of rythym.

Can KC’s secondary deal with the speed JaMarr Chase-Tee Higgins and Taj Boyd bring and will KC have to account for the Cincy tight ends too.

Mahomes is (0-3) vs the Bengals in his career-amazing considering his career record is (73-19).

Who wins? Chiefs if Mahomes can stay on the field.

49ers-EAGLES…Call this ‘Trench Warfare’…Big Boy football.

Jalen Hurts is (14-1) this year.  He can throw it to big play receivers AJ Brown and Davonta Smith.  Add in a power run game that pounded for (268Y) last week against the Giants.  They are such a physical force unit.

Then there is the composite defense, the one that has (75) sacks and 35-takeaways.  They do it upfront, led by Fletcher Cox.  They do it at linebacker.  They ballhawks in the secondary.

And this game is in Philadelphia, so it will be like playing against the fans.

The Niners win streak is now at 12-straight and the rookie QB-Brock Purdy is (7-0) with 17TD-4Int.  But he struggled last week his poorest offensive outpouring of the season.  Yards and points became tougher last week and will be even more so this year.

Then there is the Niner defense, upfront, the Fred Warner led linebacking and a very active secondary.  San Francisco has 48-sacks and 27-takeaways.

San Francisco has to be concerned about how banged up Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel are, since they missed practices.

This could be a ball control game.  It could be a challenging game for both QBs facing the teeth of very good defenses.  There may be turnovers.

Field goal points will be important.

Who wins?  I think the Eagles have too much firepower and though it will be a low scoring game, I think Philadelphia will out-tough San Francisco
