“Sports Stories to Watch”

-0-

Interesting weekend ahead of us.  Games-stories to watch.

CHARGERS..Litmus test for the progress they have made with Brandon Staley as head coach.  The Bolts defense will be tested by Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys.  Coming of a 403-yard passing day, will the Chargers be able to hold up against WRs-Amari Cooper and Cee Dee Lamb?  Will the Bolts defense put a lock on veteran running back Zeke Elliott?  Will fans wearing Cowboys colors overwhelm So Fi Stadium and the Chargers fans, showing how many ‘real’ Bolt fans there are in LA?

RAIDERS…Road game in Pittsburgh and the two storylines to watch:  How will Derek Carr and the Raiders offensive line handle the blitz-happy, turnover takeaway defense the Steelers bring onto the Heinz Field turf?  And will the Raiders defense hold up against Ben Roethlisberger and a dangerous Pittsburgh passing attack.  A litmus test for Jon Gruen and GM-Mike Mayock.

RAMS…Quite an opening weekend for Matthew Stafford now a chance to build on that with a road game in Indianapolis.  Bigger game for Carson Wentz and the Colts, for he must prove he can carry the team the way Philip Rivers did last year.

RAVENS…Hate to think about opening (0-2), but it could happen against Kansas City.  A lot of injuries for Baltimore, and facing Patrick Mahomes will be a monster challenge for QB-Lamar Jackson

JAGUARS..A real test for the Urban Meyer led team and young QB-Trevor Lawrence, who had an up and down opening day with TDs, Interceptions, overthrows and sacks.  Stories of unrest spilling ou too Jacksonville about Meyer and his anger at his coaching staff, the group he hired. This is not going to implode early is it?

BUFFALO…You wouldn’t think the Bills would start (0-2) but that might happen, with this divisional game in Miami, this following the Buffalo loss at home to Pittsburgh.  Too Tagovailoa got a win in New England last week, doing it a second weekend in a row vs Buffalo would ge a message on how much he has improved.

TENNESSEE…Add the Titans name to the list of teams that could be (0-2) by Sunday night.  Getting punched in the jaw last week at home in the loss to Arizona was a surprise as was the lopsided score.  The Titans better come up big against Seattle.

PACKERS…Chip on their shoulder game coming up against Carolina.  A lousy 38-3 loss was the stunning score on the board last week.  Aaron Rodgers will have to rally his team emotionally.  Pity the Panthers if the real Packers show up in Charlotte.  Pity the fallout from Packers fans and the media if they fall to (0-2)

ARIZONA…Pretty good duel in the desert coming up, Kyler Murray-Kirk Cousins, with Arizona coming off the big road win last week, and the Vikings not getting a win last weekend.  Will the people wearing Purple be (0-2) after this game?

Enjoy your NFL weekend.
