Random thoughts on alot of topics and alot of teams:

PADRES..Don’t like these rumblings Manny Machado has a back issue. Don’t like the total lack of depth of outfielders on this roster. Wonder if CJ Abrams is ready for the major leagues right now. Love the starting pitching with an (3.00-ERA) so far this spring.

DODGERS..Everybody has contracts but do the Dodgers have enough bullpen pitching? Still stunned Kenley Jansen jumped ship to the Braves. He’s gone, so is Joe Kelly and Corey Knebel. Of course it might not be a problem if you score 8-runs a game. Who are you going to pitch around in that lineup? Who is going to close?

ANGEL..Staying healthy Mike Trout-Anthony Rendon-Justin Upton is the key. Who knows if they have enough starting pitching?

AZTECS…Hard to believe the slippage in Mark Martinez’s team, off to a dreadful (5-19) start, and (0-9) in Mountain West

CHARGERS…Some off season upgrades to that defense, though I wish they had been able to keep starting LB-Kyzier White and DT-Justin Jones. Now address the right tackle-right guard problems in a very deep draft. Might have won the off season with all those acquisitions in free agency and the draft.

RAMS..What a stunner to have traded 2nd and 3rd round draft picks and then have Von Miller leave as a free agent to go to Buffalo ona big payday for a veteran player. That and losing DT-Sebastian Day to the crosstown Bolts was a setback. Still have not signed Odell Beckham, but did get Allan Robinson at wide out.

AZTECS…Spring football was giving snaps to alot of the young quarterbacks. Virginia Tech transfer Braxton Burmeister will be a one year rental but he has proven alot while playing in the ACC. Watching the growth of Will Haskell heading to his second year in the program will be fun. Alot of upside there.

LAKERS…So who gets fired first, Coach Frank Vogel or half the roster? What a disgrace, being in 10th place, yes 10th place, after losing to a poor New Orleans Pelicans team. If LeBron James does not score 30-40-50, the Lakers have no chance.

CLIPPERS….Paul George is about to return from the significant elbow injury but most doubt Kawhi Leonard will play in post season, so they likely won’t go far.

AZTECS…Hoping Nathan Mensah returns for his extra year of Covid eligibility. Hope too Brian Dutcher goes into the transfer portal and finds a shooting guard.

USD…The search for a head coach continues. They’ve tried guys from Gonzaga, assistants from other staffs and even one of their own. How about ex-UCLA coach Ben Howland, who was with the Bruins and at Mississippi State but got bounced from both places.

BRUINS-TROJANS..Tough to repeat the magic of a year ago. UCLA was really nicked up with injuries. USC way too young. The key, keep everyone from entering the NBA or transfer portal and add with great recruiting classes.

KINGS..Not much credit being given to Rob Blake for the turnaround of a long struggling NHL team, and we still haven’t seen all their draft picks show up yet.

DUCKS..Very bad end to the season, with the losses, the injruies, and now the purge of the roster. Incoming GM-Pat Verbeek is stockpiling assets, but he may not be done. Seems so unfair if they fire Coach Dallas Eakins as part of the rebuilding, but the losing streak is now at 9-straight.

GULLS..A really disappointing season, but a strong second half under Joel Bouchard’s leadership. The (7-0-1) stretch in the wake of call ups and playing lots of young players means progress made. Hard to believe how poor the crowd turnouts have this winter at the Sports Arena.

SOCKERS…Not many paying attention, did you know they are (20-0-1) this season? Didn’t think so. No one else did either. The Sockers should be our MISL expansion team. Maybe some day

LOYAL….Fun second season in USL is underway and crowds of 5,000 plus for home games are impressive.

WAVE…Drew over 6,000 for first home game in NWSL-tourney, but building with expansion team takes time. Have not scored a goal in their opening two losses…but fans are there.

STRIKE FORCE…Indoor football returns with Monday Night game at the Arena against the legendary Arizona Rattlers. Does anyone in town know they exist? First home game in two years, product seems better, but virtually no promotion at all about the team.
