“Things to Watch This Week”

BRITISH OPEN..Tees off in Scotland..big story will be not just Tiger Woods comeback…but Rory McIlroy’s decision to go public asking for the PGA to meet with the Saudi Super League to work out a cease fire on player’s raids.

PADRES…A real free fall..from half a game out of first place to 8-games back…Not only are they not hitting, now half the rotation seems fatigued and the bullpen is leaking oil.  Can AJ Preller find a way to make a trade, to get a bat, but what does he give up?

EL NINO..Fernando Tatis hopes to be cleared on Monday to begin full scale workouts.  The Padres need him, fingers crossed he does not have a setback

DODGERS NOT FADING…The winning steak is 10-straight, despite an ailing pitching staff and the erratic work of closer Craig Kimbrel.  Who could have believed Tony Gonsolin-Tyler Anderson would be a combined (19-1) this season.  LA is trying to make a deal with Pittsburgh to get OF-Brian Reynolds.  And when does this decision on Trevor Bauer’s 324-game suspension appeal come down?

ANGELS in HELL…Something has to change , as the losing continues.  The Halos need another starting pitcher but also need a bat to protect Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani in a struggling batting order.  Do they give up on 1st round draft pick Jo Adell to go get a veteran?
