MLB….Owners make new financial proposal to Union to reopen season…Ask for ‘Sliding Pay-Scale’…for the 82-game season….Players with biggest salaries would take biggest pay-cuts…Players with minimum salaries would retain most of salaries….Owners say players would make bigger amount of money in new 1B-postseason TV contract.

..Union says the proposal involves ‘massive paycuts’ for virtually all players…up to 65%
..Owners say new TV contract for playoffs would give baseball increase from 777M-to-1Billion this fall…Players would get bigger cut than under old postseason TV contract.
..Owners say Players paycuts would be same percentage of top front office execs of all teams.
..Owners rejected idea of ‘deferred payments’ of salaries into 2021.
..Owners rejected idea of playing more than 82-game schedule.

..Union says Players would wind up getting just 40% of their full salary…Example-Mike Trout salary cut would go from (37M-to-11M) Gerrit Cole would go from (36M-to-9M)…Bryce Harper salary (33M-to-8M)…Manny Machado (30M-to-7M).

..Union says it will do Video Call with Player Reps before setting up additional negotiating sessions with Owners to respond to ‘Sliding Scale Salary proposal’.

Dodgers…Zoom video conference with employees….will be no layoffs of employees…but will begin tiered pay-cuts on June 1st….Dodgers had paid full salaries for 6-pay periods dating back to March shutdown during spring training….Paycuts of 15-to-35% for employees making over 75,000 per year.

A’s..Say they will furlough all their scouts once the Baseball draft is completed this summer….Means there may not be any Minor League baseball this year.
