Chargers-Chiefs

  • San Diego “win & in” for postseason play….Chiefs have to win and get some help…Bolts big play capabilities still out there despite injuries Ryan Mathews-Keenan Allen…San Diego has hit 17-plays of 20-yards or more in just the last 5-weeks….For the season-Bolts 56–plays of plus 20Y…Chiefs pride themselves on defense stopping big plays-having allowed just 37-plays of plus-20….San Diego is averaging (343Y) per game on offense…Chiefs giving up just (200YPG) thru the air..Kansas City has 39-QBX and 16-takeaways on season….Kansas City’s biggest problem is offense has gone away…Have lost 4-of-5 games..averaging just 18P a game in that stretch…3rd down conversion rate has gone from 47% at mid-season to just 25% last 5-games…Running game that was averaging (120Y) per game at midseason-is down to (79Y) a game over last five…RB-Jamal Charles (5.1YPC) production has tailed off…Philip Rivers (3995P-31TD)….but production has dropped off..Rivers had (109R) at midseason-just (81R) over last 8-games..Rivers has thrown 7-interceptions last 4-games for San Diego….Key to game-Bolts jump out to early lead-making Chiefs throw the ball-take away Jamal Charles run ability…Chargers don’t need home run balls-just need to go no huddle-wear out defense-put together 10-14 play drives and get points….Andy Reid (3-10) in November-December last two years with Chiefs..”San Diego wins and is in”

Broncos-Raiders

  • The big question is not who is going to win-but can Peyton Manning rally back and become dominant again…Manning is coming off a 4-interception game and has not been able to complete passes outside the numbers-arm strength-receivers not get open….Manning QB-rating 6th in NFL at midseason-has dropped to 20th in last 8-weeks…Last 8-games-Manning (17TD-8Int-8QBX)….last 3-games (3TD-6Int)….Manning (4454P-39TD) but does not appear to be the same quarterback…Raiders Derek Carr wrapping up strong season without much support around him…Coaching housecleaning coming-possibly as early as Monday…Broncos win big.

Bengals-Steelers

  • 1st place at stake and first round bye for the AFC-North winner…Ben Roethlisberger leads 3-headed monster offense (4635P-30TD)…RB-Le
  • Veon Bell (2112APY)…Antonio Brown (122R) in record setting season…Bengals had flu hit their locker-room at midweek…QB-Andy Dalton needs big game…RG-Jeremy Hill finishing off strong rookie season despite fumbles…Steelers win at home.

Lions-Packers

  • Both (11-4)..but this is at Lambeau where Detroit has not win since 1991…Lions a more balanced team under Jm Caldwell-but not as dangerous on offense…Aaron Rodgers (36TD)…Team has plus 15-turnover ratio…balanced attack…Packers averaging (425YPG) at home this year…Offense has just 11-turnovers-lowest total in NFL since 1941…Green Bay gets it done.

Arizona-San Francisco

  • Cardinals (11-4) have seen home field advantage slip away because of injuries…QB-Ryan Lindley (0TD-8Int) has to start after poor practices mid-week by rookie Logan Thomas…49ers-battered by injuries, likely playing last game for Jim Harbaugh, though big plays from Kaeperneck-Gore showed up last week…Niners to win then say goodbye to coach…Arizona not the same team right now.

Seahawks-Rams

  • Seattle driving at warp-speed into postseason…Russell Wilson dynamic right now (3236P-832R)…Marshawn Lynch in beast mode…Defense choking people off…Rams had nice run at mid-season, thanks to defense, but cannot score much with Shaun Hill at QB….Seattle storms into postseason with home field advantage where they have 23-of-last-25 games.

Browns-Ravens

  • Baltimore has to win and then get set help…Up-and-down offensive year for QB-Joe Flacco with loss of Ray Rice, then injuries to Dennis Pitta and Torry Smith…Browns second half huge disappointment…QB-Brian Hoyer, ailing shoulder, probably starts, with Johnny Manziel of IR after two disappointing weeks…Browns still play tough defense and can run the ball…Desperate times for Ravens..Baltimore wins.

Dallas-Washington

  • Tony Romo (3406-32TD) is no longer a mad bomber, but rather a quiet assassin, with DeMarco Murray (1745Y) and Dez Bryant becoming a scary force…Jay Gruden ends disastrous season at first year head coach with so many unanswered questions-problems with Robert Griffin III…Redskins riddled by injuries too…Cowboys steamroll way into playoffs with home games coming too.

Indianapolis-Tennessee

  • Andrew Luck has had an awesome season (4601P-38TD) but the team around him seems to be fatigued…The WR-TE corps is banged up-the run game not very trustworthy and now you wonder how far they can go in postseason-even with home games coming up…Tennessee has to be as big a disappointment as there is in the league and you wonder whether Ken Whisenhunt is really head-coaching timber…Colts win.

Houston-Jacksonville

  • Blake Bortels is wrapping up his rookie season, still standing, not battered, but his team not very successful…The future looks brighter based on how many kids they played this year…Somehow Bill O’Brien has coaxed-coached the Texans into a competitive team despite lots of injuries…Houston finishes with a win-Jacksonville gets another high draft pick for tomorrow.

Jets-Miami

  • Last game for Rex Ryan…Bottom line Geno Smith no more consistent this year than this time last year, and it cost the coach his job…Dolphins give votes of confidence to coach and general manager, so they believe they are making progress…Miami will win again.

Chicago-Minnesota

  • Last game for Jay Cutler (24-Turnovers) in a Bears uniform?…Is still owed 32M more guaranteed thru 2016…Teddy Bridgewater has a decent first year-growing on the job with no run game and a benched star receiver..Vikings finish with a win…Bears finish (5-11).

Buffalo-New England

  • Bills coach Doug Marrone has his team in the playoffs till the final 8-quarters of the season and injuries did hinder an otherwise positive season, but no one really knows yet if EJ Manuel is the future at QB…Tom Brady (33TD) continues to be vibrant…You wonder if the Pats have a real good defense to be playing in late January in the postseason?…New England wins this finale.

Eagles-Giants

  • Chip Kelly had a good second year, but there is no postseason, and it does not look as if Mark Sanchez is anything but a second string QB….So much firepower in Philadelphia, but nowhere to play next week…Must grow on defense..Giants trying to close out with a 4-game win streak…Eli Manning playing well, as if RB-Andre Williams and breakout WR-Odell Beckham …will be interested to see if this up-tick saves Tom Coughlin’s job knowing the loyalty the ownership has always showed…Eagles win-I think-unless there is a letdown.

Saints-Bucs

  • Disappointment-vs-Disaster…Drew Brees has (32TD) but nothing else is positive about the Saints, who have lost 5-in row at home…Changes coming to Sean Payton coaching staff…Tampa Bay has been a bad fit from day one and likely will spend the top pick on the draft on a QB-but is Marcus Mariota the real deal or just a ‘systems guy’?…Saints win.

Carolina-Falcons

  • Decent finish to disappointing Panthers season..Cam Newton-Kelvin Benjamin and Jon Stewart having good finish to campaign, but Panthers wrecked by suspensions-injuries to defense…Falcons Mike Smith might be coaching last year as Atlanta spirals down…Hard to believe a team with Matt Ryan at QB could wind up at (6-10) but his could happen.
