NFL Notebook…Key  dates on NFL off season calendar.

Tuesday..NFL Teams can issue franchise or transition tags to their in-house free-agents…Franchise tag is the average salary of the top 5-players at that position.  The Transition tag is the average of the top 10-players at that position.
February 17th
  • NFL Combine opens in Indianapolis…for 323-invited players.
March 2nd
  • Final day NFL teams can offer Franchise-Transition tag to in house free agents.
March 7th
  • Free Agent Window opens for Teams to contact Agents of free-agent players on other teams to discuss contracts.
March 10th
  • Opening of Free Agent Signing Period…
March 22nd
  • 1st ever NFL Free Agent Veterans Combine-by invitation.
April 6th
  • NFL teams with new head coaches allowed to hold 3-day veteran mini-camp.
April 30th
  • NFL Draft begins.
May 8th
  • NFL teams allowed to have 3-day rookie camp for draft picks and undrafted free agents they have signed.
